According to The Mirror, Aston Villa are considering a move for Feyenoord goalkeeper Brad Jones at the end of the season.
On-loan Manchester United stopper Sam Johnstone currently has the gloves at Villa Park, but it is understood that Villa will have to pay £6.5m to sign the 24-year-old this summer.
That will prove difficult if the club fail to earn promotion to the Premier League for the 2018-19 campaign, which has led to suggestions of a back-up plan.

Jones has previously turned out for Middlesbrough and Liverpool in the Premier League, but he currently plays his football for Feyenoord.
The 36-year-old helped the Dutch club land their first league title in 18 years last season, but it is thought that the veteran goalkeeper is considering his future in the Netherlands.
Villa supporters, however, are not exactly over the moon with the thought of Jones being the club’s number one goalkeeper next season.
